Why Is Art Important - 1165 Words
Why is art important? What role does art play in our society? What value is placed upon artists and their art, and why? Depending on itââ¬â¢s purpose art can be important in a vast number of ways. Whether it was made to convey emotion, be for political cause, or just be aesthetically pleasing. It connects people to one another. The artist and the viewer share a connection, the artist expresses themselves through a work of art, and the viewer acknowledges it and is affected by it. I suppose for different people art varies in the role it plays. Art comes in different shapes and sizes and while not everyone is an art enthusiast who is knowledgeable about most artist and movements, most people do have some form of art in their households. One thing that makes it fascinating is that It does not require former knowledge to admire art. Even mundane things such as television, magazines, and the buildings down the street are considered art. What makes something a work of art? Is art defined by particular boundaries? If so, what are they and how have they changed over the course of history? Art is much more than just a painting on a canvas and in fact it is not just limited to that style of expression. A broad way to describe it, is that art is a visual product of an individualââ¬â¢s creative mind. There is no right or wrong way to create art, since itââ¬â¢s a visual outlet for people, but that does not mean everyone can accept it as art.
